One burnt badly, another escapes from house fire

KLANG: A man suffered burns all over his body while another escaped from a blaze here.

The fire occurred at a single-storey house along Jalan Tebung Bukit Kapar, said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director operations Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain.

“A 38-year-old man suffered 45% burns and was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang for treatment,” he said.

Mohamadul Ehsan said a 24-year-old man managed to escape uninjured.

He also said a distress call was received at 5.21am yesterday and 20 firemen were dispatched to the scene.

“The fire was under control by 5.40am and was fully put out six minutes later; about 60% of the house was destroyed and we are working to find out the cause of the fire,” he said in a statement.
