PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan is confident of Barisan Nasional's commitment for both coalitions to work together in the upcoming polls for six states, says Anthony Loke.
The DAP secretary-general said any opposing view about Pakatan-Barisan cooperation would be regarded as personal opinion and not official.
"We have heard the Barisan chairman expressing the coalition's assurances.
"It is his commitment which we accept and will hold on to.
"Other views are not considered the official views of Barisan," he told reporters after opening the Malaysian Driving Institutes' Association meeting on Monday (June 26).
Loke was asked on a report claiming that MCA wanted to boycott the state elections.
Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said any statement by Barisan component party officials about boycotting the states polls were personal remarks that do not reflect or affect the coalition's stand.
This is the first time that long-time rivals Pakatan and Barisan will work together in an election.
They will be allies in the six state polls - Selangor, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah - expected to be held in early August.
