IPOH: Former Perak FC head coach Datuk Lim Teong Kim has filed a complaint with the Industrial Relations Department here for wrongful dismissal following the termination of his services on May 24.

In the complaint, he is asking for the remaining 16 months of his salary to be paid to him as he had only served eight months of his two-year contract.

The representation was filed by Lim at the department on Tuesday (June 27) in the presence of his lawyer Adam Yap Boon Han.

“I am here today to seek my rights under the law. I am not here to take revenge, I do not have any ill intentions. I am a sportsman, and I will behave like one," said Lim.

“The contract was for two years, but I was told to leave before that. I am only here to get what is due,” he said when speaking to reporters.

Meanwhile, Yap said the complaint was filed under Section 20 of the Industrial Relations Act 1967.

He said that after the complaint is filed, the department would contact the other party and try to mediate.

“The department has their procedure, and will try their level best to mediate between both parties to reach an agreement. If the mediation process fails, then the case will be brought forward to the Industrial Court for a trial,” he added.

Lim wished the team all the best and said he joined the team on good terms and wished to leave in the same way.

“I wish to thank the players who cooperated well, and especially to the fans who always gave the team high spirits,” he added.

On his future plans, Lim said he would be resting for a while, and any offer from anywhere would all depend on the terms and conditions.

Lim’s termination with immediate effect was announced by Perak FC on their Facebook account, and the team also announced that he would be replaced by their Under-23 trainer Yusri Che Lah as the temporary head coach.

He had earlier asked for time for the team to settle down after their fourth defeat in a row in the Super League.

Perak lost four times in a row; against Pahang (0-3), Penang (1-3), Johor Darul Ta’zim (0-5) and Kuala Lumpur (0-1).

Lim is the third Super League coach after Kelantan’s Choi Moon-Sik and Kelantan United’s Tomas Trucha to get the boot.
