JOHOR BARU: The Sultanah Fatimah Foundation (YSF), established to assist the less privileged in the Chinese community, has a new board of directors.

The board's new chairman Mejar Cina Datuk David Wong Khong Soon had an audience with Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar here on Tuesday (June 27).

His Majesty said YSF has been actively helping the less privileged in the state, along with other foundations such as the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) and Sultanah Rogayah Foundation (YSR).

YSF, formed in 2016, is Sultan Ibrahim’s brainchild aimed at helping and empowering the less fortunate, especially in the Chinese community.

“These foundations are not political organisations. On the contrary, they were set up to help those in need in the state,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page.

During the meeting, Wong introduced the other YSF board members to the Ruler; they are Johor health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon as well as Tan Sri Tan Seng Leong, Datuk Ng Chong Boon and Datuk Ling Kah Chok.

The foundation’s legal adviser Datuk Tea Choo Keng, YSIJ board of trustees member Datuk Avinderjit Singh and YSR chairman Datuk R. Sugumaran were also present.
