KOTA KINABALU: A 29-year-old man, who was high on drugs, is believed to have molested three women within three hours on Saturday.
The alleged offences against the victims, aged between 15 and 31, were said to have taken place in Tuaran district.
“According to one of the reports, one of the victims was approached by a stranger who suddenly hugged her from her back and started molesting her,” said Tuaran OCPD DSP Noraidin Awang Maidin.
He said the man was aggressive, adding that some of the victims even claimed to have lost their cash and other possessions during their encounters with him between 1pm and 4pm that day.
In a statement, DSP Noraidin said the suspect was apprehended at around 3am the next day.
He was found to be a patient of the Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang for mentally challenged patients.
DSP Noraidin said the man tested positive for drugs and held an OKU card for his mental condition. It is learnt that he had been released from the hospital for three days and was supposed to refer to the hospital for weekly reviews.
