Three men detained with homemade weapons, bullets in Kuala Pilah


KUALA PILAH: Police have detained three suspects and seized several homemade weapons and bullets in separate raids here.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Gani said in the first operation around 6am on June 26, his men detained a suspect in his 30s in an unnumbered house in Air Mawang, Johol for a drug-related case.

"Later in the day, we raided two other houses in Johol and detained two more suspects in their 40s.

"We also seized two homemade air rifles, a homemade shotgun, an air gun and 116 bullets from them," he said in a statement.

Supt Amran said police also found a smoke bomb, an explosive used for fish bombing, several weapon-making tools and a pair of handcuffs from the suspects.

Police have obtained an order to remand the suspects till June 30.

The case is being probed under Section 8 of the Fire Arms Act 1960 which carries a jail term of up to eight years or a fine of up to RM10,000 or both upon conviction.
