Shop assistant charged with girlfriend's murder


IPOH: A shop assistant who allegedly killed his girlfriend at a shophouse in Taman Song Choon has been charged with murder in a Magistrate's Court here.Saini Irwandy Sofian Sani, 23, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for allegedly committing the act sometime between 5pm on June 24 and 4.50am on June 25.

No plea was recorded.

It was reported earlier that Saini Irwandy, who was believed to have been under the influence of drugs, allegedly hit the victim with a broomstick.

Magistrate Jesseca Daimis set Aug 30 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor NM Moganaraj Mithra prosecuted, while the accused was not represented.
