Johor cops arrest trio for allegedly assaulting two brothers

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have arrested three men who allegedly attacked two victims at Kangkar Pulai here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said the incident occurred at 10.15am on Sunday (July 2) after a 37-year-old man drove to his elder brother's house.

"The three suspects followed the victim to his 43-year-old brother's house.

"Upon arrival, the trio exited the vehicle and pushed the victim to the ground.

"One of the suspects then hit the victim on the head with a metal rod," he said in a statement.

The victim suffered injuries to the left side of his head and ear. The victim's elder brother was also punched, he added.

Both victims were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.

"A check on the suspects' car registration number revealed that it belonged to one of the suspects' girlfriend.

"A follow up was conducted and the trio was arrested around Bandar Selesa Jaya, Taman Setia Tropika, and Kangkar Pulai between 2.50pm and 5.45pm the same day," he said.

Police also confiscated a metal rod and a vehicle.

The suspects, aged between 27 and 32, will be remanded on Monday (July 3). A background check also revealed that one of the suspects has a record of two prior crimes.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm.
