State polls: Johor Umno to assist election machinery in three other states

JOHOR BARU: Johor Umno will be assisting election preparations in 20 areas in three other states ahead of upcoming polls.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said that they would be sent to 20 areas in Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, and Selangor.

"We have identified 20 locations as adopted areas that we will help during the coming state election.

"A total of 14 Umno Johor branches will be sent to 11 locations in Selangor, eight branches will be sent to six locations in Negri and three branches will be sent to three locations in Terengganu," said Mohamed Khaled after chairing a Johor Umno meeting at Pejabat Umno Johor here on Sunday (July 2).

Mohamed Khaled added that the election machinery would be sent to the locations where Barisan is contesting.

"We will also be helping other candidates under the unity government who are contesting under the same parliamentary locations, and I also believe that other coalition members will help us as well," he added.

Although dissolution dates were different for the six states, leaders have agreed to hold polls simultaneously in six states, namely Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.

Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan were currently under the leadership of Pakatan Harapan while Terengganu, Kedah and Kelantan were under Perikatan Nasional.
