State polls: Kelantan PKR has submitted names of shortlisted candidates, says Nik Nazmi

MACHANG: Kelantan PKR has submitted the names of shortlisted candidates for the upcoming state polls to the party leadership, says PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

Nik Nazmi, who is also Kelantan and Terengganu PKR chairman, said the names will be announced by party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said Pakatan Harapan had been allocated 14 seats to contest in Kelantan, but he could not confirm how many PKR would contest.

Nik Nazmi was speaking to reporters after visiting the Kampung Joh-Kampung Belimbing road construction project site here on Sunday (July 2).

Prior to this, Kelantan Umno information chief Datuk Zawawi Othman said Barisan Nasional would field candidates in 31 seats in Kelantan while 14 more will feature candidates from PKR and Amanah, representing Pakatan.

The 45-seat Kelantan state assembly was dissolved on June 22.

Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Terengganu and Kedah will also be facing state elections. – Bernama
