MELAKA: A nine-year-old boy has died, allegedly strangled by his 14-year-old brother in Kampung Bukit Piatu here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit confirmed that the boy had died due to strangulation and would issue a statement later.

The incident is believed to have taken place at about noon on Wednesday (July 5).

Neighbours, when interviewed, claimed the elder brother had been acting erratically recently.

One of the neighbours, who requested anonymity, said he was facing some emotional distress and his family had sought the help of an ustaz.
