Senior citizen’s body retrieved from Ranau river


KOTA KINABALU: Authorities assisted in retrieving the body of an 81-year-old woman from a riverside in Ranau on Thursday (July 6).

The Fire and Rescue Department said they were called in to assist with the recovery of the remains, which were stuck on a tree branch at the riverbank in Kampung Tinanom there.

“Also joining the operation with the Ranau Fire and Rescue team were policemen and RELA.

“The body was then handed over to the police for further actions, and the operation was ended at 11.20am,” said the Department spokesman.

No further information was available on the case as at press time.
