Aide caught urinating on aboriginal man

A political aide, who urinated on an aboriginal man in Madhya Pradesh, India, has been arrested and charged after a huge outcry, reported Makkal Osai.

Pravesh Shukla, a youth leader with the Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP) in the state, was caught on video urinating on a worker from the oppressed Adivasi community who was sitting by the roadside.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered an investigation as well as stern action.

After Pravesh’s arrest, parts of his house were demolished for having been built illegally.

Shivraj Singh also met the aboriginal man and washed his feet in an act of apology.

> The Tamil daily also reported that the annual Malaysia-India Book Fair organised by Jaya Bakti Publications had received a RM20,000 boost from Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar.

The event, which began in 2000 but had to be cancelled during the Covid-19 pandemic, was being held for the 20th time this year.

Free books were also handed out to students and teachers.
