Toddler killed in Butterworth fire


BUTTERWORTH : A two-year-old boy was killed in a fire at a Taman Pantai Bersih flat here on Sunday (July 9).

In the early morning incident ,the fire damaged a room in the unit at the second floor of the block of flats.

A state Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the firemen were alerted at about 8.30am.

"The boy was found in a room and was killed on the spot due to the fire," said the spokesman.

He said a team of firemen from the Butterworth fire station were sent to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
