Tunku Ismail on a three-day official visit to Singapore

JOHOR BARU: Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim will be making an official visit to Singapore for three days until Wednesday (July 12).

The visit to the island republic, which starts from Monday (July 10), comes following an invitation from Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.

Tunku Ismail will be accompanied by his wife Che Puan Besar Khaleeda Bustamam, as well as Johor palace and state officials.

During the visit, Singapore Prime Minister Datuk Lee Hsien Loong and his wife Datin Paduka Ho Ching will host Tunku Ismail and Che Puan Khaleeda to a tea reception.

Dr Balakrishnan and his wife would welcome the royal couple with a private dinner.

Tunku Ismail will also call on Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong.

Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defence Zaqy Mohamad will also accompany Tunku Ismail to meet Singapore Armed Forces Commandos while Singapore’s Minister of State for Education Gan Siow Huang will host a tour to the Kuo Chuan Presbyterian secondary school.

Tunku Ismail will then join Singapore’s Culture, Community and Youth Minister and Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Football Association of Singapore and the Johor Football Association on cooperation in football development

This includes the establishment of an annual football cup match between the Singapore Selection and Johor Selection teams from 2024 onwards.
