Anwar, ministers arrive for unity govt leadership meet


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at Menara Dato’ Onn at the World Trade Centre here on Tuesday (July 11) for the Unity Government Leadership Consultative Council Meeting.

Also seen attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Sim Kui Hian.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan were also seen entering the venue earlier.

Cabinet members comprising Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick were also spotted.

The meeting comes ahead of the state polls for Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

The six states will hold their polls simultaneously on Aug 12, with early polling on Aug 8. Nomination falls on July 29.
