Lorry driver finds two dead bodies

MELAKA: A 35-year-old lorry driver made a gruesome discovery of two bodies wrapped in canvas sheets along a roadside close to a secondary jungle at Kampung Ujong Padang in Cheng here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said it was believed that the bodies of two men were dumped at the site within the last two or three days.

He said the discovery was made at 9am yesterday and one of the bodies was found with hands and legs tied with cable ties and rope.

ACP Christopher said the first body was clad in jeans and a t-shirt, while the other body was only clad in short jeans pants.

“Both of the bodies were found under piles of rubbish, and the identities of the bodies are unknown as no identification was found.

“We are also checking if any missing person reports have been lodged,” he said.

ACP Christopher said the police had classified the case as murder.

“We have sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination and are trying to get some leads on the identities of the two bodies,” he added.
