Man arrested for theft, breaking into Ukay Perdana office


AMPANG: A 21-year-old man was detained for allegedly breaking into an office in Ukay Perdana and stealing RM4,150 worth of cash and goods.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the victim, a businessman, realised that his office was broken into at 6.09pm on Sunday (July 9).

"There were signs of a break-in on the office's door.

"The thief escaped with cash and two pairs of jeans. The losses were estimated to be about RM4,150," he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 11).

ACP Mohd Azam said the victim recognised the one responsible as a former worker based on CCTV footage.

"We managed to detain the suspect at 11.30pm on Monday (July 10) in Ukay Perdana.

"He has a prior criminal record. We also seized a bag and a few items of stolen clothing," he said.
