KUALA LUMPUR: Six police personnel were detained following a raid by the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) at an entertainment outlet in Ipoh.
During the 11.30pm raid on Saturday (July 8), the police personnel were believed to have been partying with an Indonesian woman in a karaoke room at the outlet.
Sources said the JIPS raiding team also seized a small packet filled with white substance believed to be ketamine.
The police personnel were believed to be from a district police headquarters in Perak.
Further checks also discovered that a Muslim personnel was drinking alcoholic beverages while another personnel tested positive for ganja.
Bukit Aman JIPS director Comm Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad confirmed the arrests, which was jointly conducted with the Perak Islamic Religious Department.
"The Perak JIPS is investigating the case and for the time being, the investigation involved disciplinary infringements.
"There is a situation that permits police personnel to be present at such premises based on internal order, but investigation will be conducted when a police personnel tests positive for drugs or partake in alcoholic beverages," he said.
