MALAYSIAN singer Jess Lee (pic) became a trending topic on Chinese social media after an acclaimed performance in Macau recently, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The 35-year-old delivered a stunning performance of That Moment, one of her new songs last year, during a concert organised by tech giant Tencent.
Impressed fans claimed they had not noticed the sound system working until Lee started singing, leading to “Jess Lee fixes sound system” becoming a trending topic on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter.
“Jess Lee sings so well. She was one of the best female singers at the event,” one netizen wrote.
Lee is set to go on a concert tour in China soon.
In 2010, the Negri Sembilan native won the reality TV singing competition One Million Star in Taiwan, becoming the first Malaysian winner on the show.
She has since released four albums and now has an indie label to her name and produces her own music.

> Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao’s eight-storey villa is home to 11 rescued cats and dogs, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The 36-year-old revealed this on a recent variety show.
Footage played on the programme showed Hsiao having a good time washing his dogs, even tearing up when bathing an old canine which could hardly walk.
Hsiao explained that he had started adopting animals some six years ago because he felt sorry for them.
He also called on the public to treat their pets better and not abandon them.
He had earlier revealed that one of the floors in his villa was dedicated to his pets and that his courtyard was large enough to take them out for walks.
Hsiao too made a name for himself after appearing on One Million Star in 2007.
