New school in Sg Pelek starts enrolment

THE newly-built SJK (T) Ladang Bukit Ijok in Sungai Pelek, Sepang, has started registering pupils for its opening in September, Makkal Osai reported.

School board chairman A. Chandrasekar said the board and management started the process early to avoid snags during the opening.

Indian families in Sungai Pelek are currently sending their kids to SJK (T) Teluk Merbau or SJK (T) Sepang which are both located about 8km from the small town.

After this, the pupils will be able to enrol and continue their primary education at the new school as the transfer of students had been approved by the district education office, Chandrasekar said, adding that those in Years One to Three will begin in September, while the other classes will begin next year.

> Three elderly people in India were brutally murdered by a neighbour after repeatedly making fun of him for not having any children, the daily also reported.

The three victims Surinder Kaur, 70, her husband Saman Lal, 74, and mother-in-law Surjid Kaur, 95, lived in Ludhiana, Punjab. Surinder was apparently in the habit of mocking her neighbour Munna Rabin, 42, for not having children after being married for five years.
