IPOH: An instruction has been given to reassign the six police personnel arrested at an entertainment outlet here, says Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
The Perak police chief said the instruction came from the top brass to reassign them.
"The police, especially myself as the state police chief, will not compromise on any acts involving abuse of power and integrity.
"This goes for all police officers and personnel," he said after launching a blood donation programme organised in conjunction with the 216th Police Day at a shopping mall here on Wednesday (July 12).
On Saturday (July 8), the six were detained during a joint raid by the police Integrity and Standards Compliance Department and the Perak Islamic Religious Department at an entertainment outlet here.
The police personnel were believed to have been partying with an Indonesian woman in a karaoke room at the outlet.
A Muslim police personnel was also found to have consumed alcoholic beverages while another tested positive for ganja.
Comm Mohd Yusri said they would leave the matter to Bukit Aman and the state branch of the department to investigate.
"We will take (further) action after investigations have been completed," he said.
Separately, Comm Mohd Yusri said investigations into the incident where a pair of siblings, aged eight and nine, drowned in a swimming pool here on Feb 26 are still ongoing.
He said the incident was still being investigated under Section 31(1)(A) of the Child Act 2001 and as a sudden death report.
