Female motorcyclists nabbed over dangerous stunts on NSE

IPOH: Two female motorcyclists have been arrested for allegedly riding their vehicles recklessly near KM375.9 of the North-South Expressway.

Muallim OCPD Supt Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said the two women, aged 19 and 21, from Pulau Indah, Selangor, surrendered at the Muallim police station on Thursday (July 13) at about 9.10pm.

"From our investigations, the incident is said to have occurred on Sunday (July 9) while the video of the incident went viral on Wednesday (July 12).

"When motorcylist arrived near the Behrang rest and restoration area, they performed a dangerous move by straightening their legs backward and in a prone position ala Superman," he said in a statement.

“They were also zipping left and right on the road," he said, adding that both would be given police bail after investigations.

Supt Mohd Hasni said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act for riding in a reckless and inconsiderate manner.

"If found guilty, they can be jailed up to five years and fined a maximum of RM15,000.

"They could also lose their licences for at least two years after conviction," he said.

"The people are urged not to do dangerous acts on the road because it is against the law.

"They are not only endangering their own lives but other road users as well," he added.
