I will personally look into civil servants' salary scheme, says PM

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he will personally look into the salary and allowance scheme of civil servants.

The Prime Minister said he was informed that it has been more than 10 years since a committee had studied civil servants' salaries.

Anwar said he would chair the committee, which will also include the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Public Service Department director-general.

"We will give anything that is reasonable and fair to the civil servants," he said during a session with staff of enforcement agencies on Thursday (July 13).

The Prime Minister said the meeting would be held soon to reflect the administration's commitment to look into the welfare of civil servants.
