State polls: Amanah to defend most of its existing seats, says Mat Sabu

PUTRAJAYA: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) will defend most of its existing seats in the coming polls involving six states, says its president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

He said there are several seats which have not been finalised.

Mohamad indicated that there might be some changes to the seats which Amanah would contest but did not elaborate.

"We (Pakatan Harapan) are tying loose ends. We are almost at the end of finalising things," he told reporters on Thursday (July 13).

Selangor Amanah has confirmed that it would contest nine of the 56 state seats in Selangor.

Its chairman Izham Hashim said the party would contest in Sabak, Meru, Pandan Indah, Hulu Kelang, Morib, Seri Serdang, Sungai Ramal, Taman Templer and Batang Kali.

Prior to the dissolution of the Kedah state assembly, Amanah held three seats in Kedah, six in Selangor, Penang (two), Negri Sembilan (three).

Nomination day for the polls is on July 29 while polling is on Aug 12.
