PARIT: A total of 108 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) candidates in Perak passed the examination with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
Perak Education Department director Mohamad Fauzi Mahson said the figure was higher than 2021, when 74 candidates achieved these results.
"In 2022, Perak had 3,421 candidates taking the STPM at 55 schools. From the total, 30 schools had 100% passes," he said.

Mohamad Fauzi added that SMK Jalan Tasek in the Kinta district had the highest number of candidates that passed the exam with a 4.0 CGPA, saying this was achieved by 12 students.
"This is followed by SMK Mengelembu with 10 students and SMJK Sam Tet with seven students," he said at a press conference held at Dewan Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi Petronas here on Thursday (July 13).

Meanwhile SMK Hua Lian in Larut Matang Selama district had six students and SMK King Edward III in the same district had five students with 4.0 CGPA.
