"During the event Muhammad Sanusi's remarks about the appointment of the Selangor mentri besar made it seem like the Sultan made the wrong choice.

"We take this as an insult against the Sultan," Emran said.

He added that they generally were not bothered by the things Muhammad Sanusi said but it was wrong of him to touch on the Royal Institutions of other states.

"He insulted the Sultan openly during a ceramah so he must also make a public apology for his remarks," he told reporters outside the police station.

He said the Sultan can appoint whoever he deems fit to be the mentri besar and did so by selecting one from the political party that won the most votes.
