Kedah MB hits back at Amirudin and Zahid

PETALING JAYA: After police reports were lodged against him for allegedly belittling the Sultan of Selangor, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has come out swinging against his rivals.

The Kedah Mentri Besar told Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari not to be a “spin master” and demanded that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi “repent and quit politics” over his corruption cases.

He said he would not relent in his retaliation against those who attacked him.

The Jeneri assemblyman said he had not said anything against Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and that Amirudin was being spiteful for having been called “cokia” (Kedah slang for low-quality).

He also said he hoped Ahmad Zahid, the Umno president, would also repent “48 times and quit politics as he has corruption cases pending in court”.

On July 13, Ahmad Zahid said Muhammad Sanusi should repent and not use “all things under the sun” as his campaign tools.

“I thank him for his advice but please repent and quit your post as deputy prime minister as you have misled your party members,” he retorted.

“I would like to inform Amirudin not to spin my words.

“In my speech, I was explaining the greatness of the Kedah sultanate’s history when they fought off the British on the issue of the separation of Penang. I did not touch on the Sultan of Selangor at all.

“When I used the word ‘cokia’ on Amirudin, that was because he had claimed that Selangor had developed under him when in fact, the state had been developed for decades, even in the 70s.

“If he wants to degrade and insult me in public and say he would teach me how to develop Kedah, I, too, can give my replies.

“My political fight is with Pakatan and Barisan, and I was trading barbs with Amirudin,” he said.
