SEREMBAN: Parti Amanah Negara has dismissed talks that it will give away Lenggeng seat to Barisan Nasional in the coming state election.
Its Negri Sembilan chief Datuk MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman said the party was set to defend Lenggeng, Paroi and Klawang seats, which it won in the 2018 general election.
"Based on the latest meeting of the party leadership, Amanah will defend all the three seats as the incumbents.
"Amanah would like to emphasise that there had been no discussions or decisions made on handing over the Lenggeng seat to Barisan as claimed in a message that went viral on social media recently," he added.
He said the party's election machineries in the three constituencies had also been launch by president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
There were 36 seats in the Negri Sembilan state assembly.
In the 14th general election, Pakatan Harapan grabbed 20 seats - 11 won by DAP, six by PKR and three by Amanah - while Barisan bagged the remaining 16.
MK Ibrahim said Amanah has contributed significantly in realising the agenda of the state Pakatan government over the past five years.
"We have been best political friends (in Pakatan).
"Amanah would also like to urge all members and supporters to be prepared to face the polls and keep up the momentum to ensure the continuity of the unity government at the state level," he said, adding that the party would also be naming its candidates soon.
All three, he said, are highly qualified, with integrity and a high level of commitment to serve the people.
