Sanusi apologises to Selangor Ruler

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor apologises to Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah but claims his statements had been "spun" in an attempt to defame him.

In a Facebook post post early Saturday (July 15) morning, the caretaker Kedah mentri besar said he had sent a letter to Istana Selangor (the Selangor Palace) as he needed to explain his side of the story to Sultan Sharafuddin.

“I sent a letter to His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin to explain the context and the situation in which parts of my statement were deliberately twisted,” the Jeneri assemblyman said.

“My letter started off with an apology to His Royal Highness as I hoped that he was not upset by the issues that were purposely picked out of my speech.

“I was informed by Selangor Palace officers that His Royal Highness had agreed to accept the letter and read it on Friday (July 14).

“It would not be nice to attach the letter here in line with the protocols of liaising with Istana Selangor,” Muhammad Sanusi said in his Facebook post.

He also said that he has cooperated with the police on the reports lodged by certain quarters against him over the matter.

“I had given my statement to Bukit Aman at 2am on Friday to assist them in completing their investigations over the reports lodged by PKR and others.

“The waters which have purposely been dirtied should be cleaned up to see the fish beneath it.

"Until then, wait by the waters,” said Muhammad Sanusi, quoting a Malay proverb.

Police reports were lodged by PKR members and the Royal Council of Selangor against Muhammad Sanusi over the allegations that he had insulted the Selangor Ruler.
