Four motorcycles seized for illegal modifications in Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR: Illegal modifications landed four motorcyclists in hot water after policemen at a road operation spotted the changes.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said that a traffic operation was conducted along the motorcycle lane at the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) Expressway early Sunday (July 16) morning.

“A total of four motorcycles were seized for illegal modifications to their original structure.

"The riders and their motorcycles have been brought to the Ampang Jaya police headquarters’ Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department for documentation,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

The operation also saw 109 summonses issued for various offences, including for driving without a valid licence.

“All road users, especially motorcyclists, are advised to not modify any vehicle structural parts that can lead to accidents. Prioritise safety and value life,” he said.
