Over 200,000 recipients to get RM600 payment to purchase essential items from July 17

PETALING JAYA: More than 210,000 recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will receive the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) beginning Monday (July 17), amounting to RM600 to purchase essential items.

"The unity government has allocated RM130mil under the Payung Rahmah initiative to help the less fortunate who are facing the high cost of living," said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a statement on Sunday (July 16).

"As such, the contribution given will be able to sustain part of their daily expenses," said Anwar, who is also Finance Minister.

He said the implementation of Sara will be effective from July 17 for those in Peninsular Malaysia and Aug 7 for recipients in Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan.

Those who have any enquiries on their status can go into the STR official portal at https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my or further information on its implementation can be referred to https://www.mykasih.com.my.
