Saifuddin claims Sanusi issued compound letter over alleged rare earth theft in Sik


GURUN: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic) wants Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to clarify whether he has received a compound letter amounting to RM500,000 over the alleged theft of rare earth in Kampung Chong, Sik.

The Pakatan Harapan secretary-general claimed that the letter, signed by Kedah Director of Lands and Mines Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mustaffa and dated Oct 4 last year, was issued to the Chairman of the Kedah Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

"I want to ask Sanusi, as the Mentri Besar and Chairman of MBI, did you receive a letter from Datuk Fauzi Mustaffa, Kedah Director of Lands and Mines at the end of last year, a letter requiring MBI to pay a compound of RM500,000 for stealing rare earth in Kampung Chong, Sik,” he said in his speech at the launch of the Kedah Unity machinery in Guar Chempedak on Saturday (July 15) night.

Also present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Umno president and Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. - Bernama
