PETALING JAYA: Despite the apology from the caretaker Kedah Mentri Besar over his remarks, Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has decreed the issue remains unresolved.
The Selangor Royal Office, in a statement, said the decree was made following separate audiences granted by the Sultan to state PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam.
“They discussed the statement issued by Muhammad Sanusi in one of his talks in Selangor, which was considered to have insulted the Selangor royal institution.
“His Majesty has decreed that this matter has not been resolved,” the statement noted yesterday.
Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who is Jeneri assemblyman and PAS national election director, had issued his apology to Sultan Sharafuddin on Friday with an explanation of how his speech was purportedly “spun” to defame him.
He said a letter was sent to the Selangor palace as he needed to explain his side of the story to the Ruler and claimed that parts of his speech on July 11 in the state were “deliberately twisted”.
Police reports were lodged against Muhammad Sanusi for allegedly belittling the Sultan of Selangor for having appointed Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as Mentri Besar.
Muhammad Sanusi allegedly made the remark at a Perikatan Nasional ceramah and a video recording of the matter has gone viral.
