TWINS Shahin Suresh and Shahiv won the Manjung district-level chess competition for primary schools, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The 12-year-old pupils of SK Methodist (ACS) Sitiawan in Sitiawan, Perak, bested 458 other students from the district to place first and second in the tournament that took place at SMK Ahmad Boestamam.

Their father Suresh said the pair would be further encouraged to continue competing and excelling in the game.

> The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using high water levels at a dam in the Haryana state as an excuse to flood parts of Delhi, Malaysia Nanban reported.

More than 25,000 people are still in flood refuge centres and thousands have also reportedly gone without food for several days as the state government led by AAP struggled to deliver the help needed.

AAP MP and national spokesman Sanjay Singh blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP, saying the release of water from the dam was done on purpose.
