Lorry driver killed after crashing into tree on NSE near Kluang


KLUANG: A 54-year-old lorry driver was killed after his vehicle crashed into a tree at KM71.6 North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred at 9.35pm on Monday (July 17).

"Investigations revealed that the victim was heading towards Kuala Lumpur.

"Upon arriving at the location, the driver suddenly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree at the left side of the road," he said in a statement here on Tuesday (July 18).

The victim suffered serious injuries to the head and body and was later pronounced dead at the location, he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
