RM10 Madani combo pack sold out within 90 minutes

KUANTAN: The Madani combo pack of one type of fish and three bundles of vegetables sold at RM10 turned out to be the biggest attraction at the Madani Agro Sales programme organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama).

Customers who attended the event here on Sunday said it was the best purchase they had made, adding that they were also given a free jar of Agromas pineapple jam.

“Usually, three bundles of vegetables can cost up to RM8, so this promotion is a fantastic deal. It will be a waste not to buy,” health worker Mohd Riduan Mohd Azmi, 39, from Pantai Damai told Bernama.

Another customer, Maizurah Mustafa, 38, said, “Everything looks really fresh and is cheap. We can never get this price at the market.”

Retired civil servant Sufian Rahmat, 63, from Taman Tas, said that he found out about the agro sales programme through Facebook and rushed over to buy the combo pack.

Pahang Fama deputy operations director Shabuddin Mohd Noor said that the programme would be held at 11 other locations within the state throughout July, with Bentong being the first, followed by Kuantan on Sunday.

The programme, held in collaboration with the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia and the Farmers Organisation Authority, aims to help lower the cost of living, especially for the B40 group.

“The farmers sell their products directly to the consumers at 10% to 30% lower than market prices. One of the main attractions is the Madani combo which was sold for RM10, down from RM15,” Shabuddin said, adding that 100 combo packs were sold out within 90 minutes.
