Admitted rapist now pleads guilty to sexually harassing a child


IPOH: The former construction labourer who pleaded guilty to raping a public servant in April has now been charged with sexually harassing an 11-year-old girl.

Hassan Ahmad, 43, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 before Sessions Court judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad here on Thursday (July 20).

Hassan was said to have held the hand of the girl with sexual intent near the Ashby Road Flats here at about 1.30pm on April 13.

He faces a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping.

In April, Hassan pleaded guilty to two charges of raping a 38-year-old public servant who was later found injured and traumatised by the roadside at Jalan Kamarudin Isa in Fair Park here.

The widower with a child was also charged with trespass of the rape victim's house between 10pm on April 17 and 9am on April 18.

He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Deputy public prosecutor Qurratu'aini Khalifah prosecuted.

Judge Ainul set Aug 16 for facts of the case and sentencing.
