State polls: Kuala Langat Amanah wants new face for Morib seat

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Langat Parti Amanah Negara's youth and women's wings have rejected Hasnul Baharuddin as its candidate in the upcoming state polls.

Kuala Langat Amanah chairman Mohd Shafiee Harun said they unanimously reject Hasnul as he has been an assemblyman for two terms from 2013 to 2023.

"We are making a stand that the party should field a new face and of calibre to carry out the responsibility of fighting for the people, especially in the present political situation which is new, open and more progressive,” said Mohd Shafiee.

He said that Kuala Langat Amanah is confident the voters will only let a representative serve for a maximum of two terms because they want an assemblyman who cares, with better ideas and is efficient.

Mohd Shafiee said in a statement on Thursday (July 20) that there are many leaders of calibre who should be given an opportunity in Morib.

"The seat is not an individual right to continue contesting, depriving others of the calibre to serve the people. Thus, two terms is enough for Hasnul," added Mohd Shafiee.
