Tokyo cops considered as being too soft

A VIRAL video showing four women – three of them scantily-clad – fighting with policemen in Tokyo has caused a stir on social media, gaining more than 15.5 million views on Twitter, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Three of the women shoved and shouted at the officers by a roadside while several other cops tried to calm them down.

Two women were heard saying: “What are you doing?” while an officer told them not to be emotional and not to roughen up the police.

Many of those who viewed the videos said the women are believed to be Chinese nationals although they mainly conversed in Japanese during the commotion.

One of the women was also heard uttering Chinese words while another shouted “maniac” in Mandarin at a bystander who filmed the incident.

Some commentators remarked that the Japanese police had acted too softly, adding that if it had happened in the United States, the four women would have been arrested for obstructing the police.

> China Press reported that a Hong Kong celebrity family had escaped Typhoon Talim in the city to holiday in Malaysia.

Janice Shum and Man Yeung Ching-Wah shared on their social media account that they were enjoying the sunshine and good weather in the country.

“Documenting our family’s first holiday trip by flight. Day One on July 16, we’re really lucky to have got aboard the plane before the typhoon.

“The weather is good and we’ll get together with our old friends after we arrive in Malaysia,” the couple said on their joint Facebook page.

They also shared photos of themselves and their two sons feasting at several restaurants.
