Star Media Group adviser among those honoured for putting Penang on world map

GEORGE TOWN: The 6th INPenang International Awards 2023 honoured exceptional individuals and organisations for putting the state on the world map.

Receiving the INPenang International Outstanding Achievers Award (Malaysia) for his accomplishments and contributions was Star Media Group adviser Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai.

He was joined by three other winners in the category.

This biennial international award ceremony held at the Wembley Hotel here paid tribute to 17 exceptional individuals and organisations, all hailing from Penang, for their remarkable achievements, outstanding contributions to society, and steadfast commitment to excellence in their respective fields.

This year saw the introduction of a new category, the INPenang Inspiration Award 2023, celebrating Zy Lee Kher, a 16-year-old Malaysian paralympic swimmer whose remarkable journey embodies resilience and compassion, serving as an inspiration to all to conquer adversities and embrace their own potential.

The individuals and organisations celebrated and honoured during the event were presented with a specially designed award certificate and an exclusive handcrafted pewter trophy.

Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and caretaker chief minister Chow Kon Yeow presented the awards to the recipients with CHTNetwork founding president Datuk Chng Huck Theng.

The event, organised by CHTNetwork, celebrates and honour outstanding Penang-born and state organisations that have demonstrated excellence in their respective industries and made significant contributions to both the local community and the international arena.

Established in 2008, CHTNetwork is a network founded to create a dynamic platform for businesses to grow, ideas to be generated and people in the know to be connected.
