JB cops seeking men involved in car park altercation


JOHOR BARU: The police are looking for a group of men who were involved in an altercation in a car park in Stulang Laut.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said that the police received a report about the incident at about 12.17am on Saturday (July 22).

"The complainant, a 48-year-old local man, said an unknown man had hit him for no apparent reason.

"He said that he suffered minor injuries on his face, head and knees from the incident at about 4pm on Friday (July 21)," he said, adding that the complainant claimed he had no idea what caused the incident.

"We are still looking for the suspect involved." he said in a statement here on Sunday (July 23).

He said that the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which provides imprisonment for up to a year of a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both.

ACP Raub also urged those with information about the incident to reach out to the Johor Baru South hotline at 07-218 2323 or investigating officer Insp Gaguri Ambau at 011-5507 8517.

Earlier, several videos of a group of men arguing in a car park were making its rounds on social media.
