Boy, 4, killed after being hit by 4WD in Sungai Way


PETALING JAYA: A four-year-old boy died in a road accident after a four-wheel drive vehicle hit him as he ran across the road.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that the incident occurred along Jalan SS9A/8 in Sungai Way on Sunday (July 23) afternoon.

"The victim, a four-year-old foreigner, was believed to have been hit by the vehicle at the scene after he ran across the road and the driver failed to brake in time. He died while receiving treatment at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).

"The driver has been arrested and granted police bail," he said in a statement Monday (July 24).

Witnesses are urged to contact traffic investigations officer Insp Navalan Ravindran at 014 2536 820.
