Woman, 64, feared drowned after falling from Penang Bridge

GEORGE TOWN: A 64-year-old woman is feared drowned after falling from the Penang Bridge on Monday (July 24).

Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victim reportedly jumped off at KM2.2 of the bridge heading towards the island.

"We received the info from police informing us that a woman had jumped off from the bridge at 4.21am," said the spokesman, adding that rescuers are now scouring the sea for her body.

The spokesman said the victim also left all her belongings in the car.
