EEA 2023 Johor roadshow to deep dive into export strategies

JOHOR BARU: With just three months away from the Export Excellence Awards (EEA) 2023 submission deadline, participants are gearing up for the last leg of knowledge-sharing from industry experts.

The final panel discussion of the EEA 2023 Roadshow series will take place at Amari Johor Baru on Aug 1 at 10.30am.

Led by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) Economics & Investment vice-president Prakash Nagarajan, the panellists will deep dive into Malaysia’s export strategies, success factors and best practices, as well as emerging export opportunities that businesses can capitalise on.

The panellists include KJH Wood Industrial Sdn Bhd executive director Joanne Tay, who will share how the company has maintained a competitive edge in the global market that led to its rise as a leading wooden pallet manufacturer with a presence across Europe, the United States, New Zealand, South America and Asia.

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) Southern Region director Amirul Azman Ahmad will outline key export strategies that businesses can consider when looking to expand their global reach, besides sharing some of the programmes implemented by Matrade to enhance export capabilities.

On sustainability and environmental responsibility, PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd chief revenue officer Kuan Eu Jin will talk about how it reduced its carbon footprint and promoted eco-friendly logistics in its export operations, and how supply chain visibility and traceability can translate to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Apart from the current global economic landscape and its potential impact on exporters, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Bhd executive director and Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking (CCIB), Transaction Banking Sales head Mohd Arif Afifuddin will share the financing options and instruments that support Malaysian exporters.

The EEA 2023 Johor roadshow will also host a networking session as well as a Q&A segment for participants. The EEA Johor roadshow is a part of the EEA programme, which is organised by Star Media Group in partnership with Standard Chartered, with PKT Logistics as co-sponsor, Matrade as patron and BDO as the auditor.
