Cops nab three for budget hotel robbery in Simpang Renggam


KLUANG: Police have arrested three male suspects to help with the investigation of a robbery, which took place at a budget hotel here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the robbery happened at the premises, which was located along Jalan Besar in Simpang Renggam at around 7.45am on Tuesday (July 25).

"Following the incident, police carried out four separate raids around Tanjung Kupang in Iskandar Puteri between 6.50pm and 11pm on the same day.

"The raids led us to arrest three suspects aged between 25 and 40 years. Checks on them found they have prior criminal records and two of them also tested positive for drugs," he said here on Wednesday (July 26).

ACP Bahrin added police also seized various items from the suspects including five mobile phones, a car together with its key, a parang and two spanners.

He also said that the suspects were under remand until Aug 1 to assist with the investigation under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
