Man crushed to death by toppled container in Klang

KLANG: A man was crushed to death after a container toppled on him while he was trying to move his car at Taman Sri Sentosa here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at 5.09pm Tuesday (July 25).

"We received a call that a container had fallen on a man along Jalan Dato Jusof Shahbudin 29A and sent personnel to the scene.

"Checks revealed that a container trailer had been parked there along with other vehicles," he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 26).

He said the victim had parked his car next to the container trailer and went to buy food.

"The man saw that the container was leaning to one side and he rushed to his car to move it.

"While he was trying to get to his vehicle, the container toppled and crushed him and his vehicle," he said, adding that checks revealed that the ground where the trailer was parked was soggy, which caused the trailer to tilt.

He said the victim died on the spot and was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
