Govt to announce RM25bil worth of initiatives today

PETALING JAYA: The government will announce investments amounting to RM25bil on Thursday (July 27).

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli (pic) said the initiative will open up some 23,000 high-paying job opportunities for Malaysians.

"The unity government will continue to produce high-impact economic programmes for the benefit of the people," he said in a tweet on Wednesday (July 26).

Earlier, he had said that he and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be making two important announcements on Thursday.

He said in the morning, Anwar will launch the Civil Economy Framework while in the afternoon, he will launch the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

According to Rafizi, the two plans will chart the country's economic path for this decade in addition to attracting investors, generating high-value job opportunities, and increasing incomes.

He said the unity and diversity of parties in the government will see pro-people policies continuing to be prioritised.

Additionally, the government partners will serve as checks to one another.

"The important thing is (to) solve the daily problems of the people so that we do not repeat the weaknesses of the past, such as the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

"That is the duty of any government, which is to have solutions and continue to act," he said.
