THE lead singer of a Chinese rock band has been arrested for taking off his pants during a stage performance in Hebei, China, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.

Videos of the incident have been circulating on social media with netizens condemning the singer of Baolixiangbin (literally translated as Violent Champagne) for committing vulgarity in the name of rock music.

In one of the clips, the singer is seen performing in his underwear.

Shijiazhuang Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau said an investigation into the incident was carried out following complaints of the inappropriate act during a show in the city on July 22.

The bureau found that the performance had, among others, violated social morality, which would bring about a negative impact on the society.

It said a stop-work order and a 200,000 yuan (RM127,350) fine had been issued against the organiser.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that a 13-year-old girl was sexually attacked again during a botched police undercover mission in Taiwan to arrest the man who had raped her.

The teenager, from Taoyuan city in Taiwan, had turned to police for help after she was blackmailed by the man, who had threatened to expose her nude photographs after raping her.

Police then sent her on a sting operation to nab the man.

In November 2020, the teenager met her attacker, known only as Chang, at a fast food outlet while two policemen were nearby.Suddenly, the teenager was hauled into Chang’s car and was driven for about 300m before the man pulled over the roadside and forced the girl to perform oral sex on him.

Police only arrested Chang after the victim alighted from the vehicle.

He was later sentenced to eight years in jail upon conviction of sexually assaulting the victim.

Coming under criticism, Zhongli police station, which was in charge of the mission, said it had repeatedly reminded the victim not to get into Chang’s car.

However, netizens were furious with the explanation, accusing the police of not only failing to protect the underaged victim but were also trying to pass the buck to her.

Two policemen at the station are now being investigated over the incident.
