State polls: Fair weather forecast for most areas on Nomination Day


KUALA LUMPUR: The weather is expected to be fair in the morning of Nomination Day on Saturday (July 29) in almost all districts in the six states going to the polls next month.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) website, the weather in Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu is expected to be clear in the morning.

However, the department has a forecast of rain in a few districts in Kedah and Penang.

In Kedah, rain is forecast for Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda and Langkawi, while the affected areas in Penang are the North-East and South-West Districts.

Saturday is Nomination Day for the six state elections to be held Aug 12 in Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Negri Sembilan.

The Election Commission has set the submission of candidate nomination forms to take place between 9am and 10am. – Bernama
